The anticipation of the new iPhone, presumably called iPhone 6, is getting bigger and Apple, Inc., is reportedly requesting suppliers to manufacture 70 to 80 million units for shipping.

According to Mashable, there is a big possibility that the debut of iPhone 6 would come in two versions, but would avoid the simultaneous launch they implemented with iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in the previous year.

Reports of 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch models have plagued the Internet, and a separate would be practical so as to not pitch both iPhone against each other in the market.

The rumors felt accurate when Chinese publication Economic Daily reported that FoxConn, a Taiwanese iPhone assembler is ramping up production and headcount for a double launch later this year.

Another local report noted that Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd. will trigger mass production of Apple's next-generation 4.7-inch iPhone 6 this July, while the 5.5-inch variant will commence second week of August.

Hon Hai is allegedly in the lookout for more than 100,000 workers to help them with the enormous demands.

Much has been said about the specifications of the iPhone 6.

Professor Neil Alford, who was consulted by Apple about sapphire screens few months back revealed:

"Apple has patents for both sapphire lamination – taking two different cuts of sapphire to induce strain and increase its resilience – and for fusing quartz or silica (glass) to sapphire."

Apple is looking to come up with an "unscratchable" screen.

When it comes to speed and processing, iPhone 6 will be the most powerful ever with the aid of a quad-core 64-bit A8 processor, which would also improve battery life drastically.

Meanwhile, Wall Street Journal mentioned that a number of sellers on Alibaba's online marketplace are now offering pre-orders of what could be an iPhone 6.
