iPhone 6s and 6s Plus benchmark tests prove they are ahead of the field

With so much attention focused on the hardware of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, a number of websites and customers have put their devices through a variety of benchmark tests. These tests proved that the iPhone 6s crushes the smartphones of several manufactures in single core tests but falls behind in multi core tests.

Several benchmark test results were rounded up by Forbes and the website stated that the one from GeekBench showed that the iPhone 6s Plus, which has the same A9 chipset as its smaller sibling, garnered a single core score of 2506 compared to the 1483 of the Samsung Galaxy S6. As for its multi-core score, the A9 chipset scored 4379 compared to the 4966 score of the Galaxy S6, which has the Exynos 7420 chipset and an octa-core CPU.

However, it is important to note that the higher multi-core score of the Galaxy S6, was expected as it has an octa-core CPU. The device from Apple, as per reports, only has a dual core CPU.

The hardware of the iPhone 6s, including its chipset, only became known when the device was put through a series of teardowns. These showed that both Samsung and TSMC had been contracted to build the A9 chips and the version made by Samsung was smaller as it used the 14 nm FinFET process technology.

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus leave the rest of the devices currently available in the market behind. The A9 chipset is well ahead of the Snapdragon 810 in terms of performance. The Snapdragon 810, which is present in the HTC One M9, only received a score of 1222 in single core performance.

SeekingAlpha, in its analysis, states that the benchmark tests showed that the A9 processor is much better than the Snapdragon 810, as well as its 2.1 version, which is not overheating. This indicates that Apple has well and truly pulled ahead of processors created by Qualcomm, which are often used by many Android smartphones.
