As metal bodied smartphones go, the iPhone 6s still continues to maintain its position at the top of the heap, but many others are trying to take away its crown and among these are several devices from China. One of these challengers is the Honor 5X from Huawei and this is how these two smartphones fare in a comparison.

Design

Here, the Honor 5X looks like a clone of its competitor as it has a full metal body with rounded edges and plastic lines at the back for housing the antenna. However, the back panel has a fingerprint scanner and a nice sandblasted finish. As for colors, the device comes in white, black and gold.

The iPhone 6s, on the other hand, is a much smaller device but it also has a metal body that is crafted from 7000 series aluminum and, therefore, is less prone to bending. There is a fingerprint scanner on the device but it is inbuilt into the home button at the front. As for colors, there are four options to choose from: gray, silver, gold and rose gold.

Display

When it comes to display size and quality, the Honor 5X is way ahead. It has a 5.5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. On the iPhone 6s is a smaller IPS LCD, display measuring 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. The iPhone 6s also comes with 3D Touch technology, which can sense the amount of pressure being applied by the user's fingertips on the screen.

Specs

When it comes to hardware, the iPhone 6s is faster as it has an Apple A9 chipset coupled with dual core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. On the Honor 5X is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset coupled with an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU.

Memory

The slot onboard the Honor 5X can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage while the iPhone 6s has no such slot. Coming to RAM, the iPhone 6s has 2 GB and its competitor either has 2 GB or 3 GB.

Camera

Comparing camera quality, the iPhone 6s is in the lead as it has a superb 12-megapixel version while the Honor 5X has a 13-megapixel version.

Price

In terms of price tags, the iPhone 6s is more expensive as it is priced at $199 with a two year contract, while the Honor 5X has a price tag of $199 unlocked.
