Apple, Inc. is reportedly tapping the services of Sony to feature DLSR-quality photos for iPhone 7. The Japanese electronics company is famous for its ultra high-definition television sets and a wide range of cameras.

This could be an odd pairing since Sony's Xperia lineup is currently going up against Apple's iPhone in the market. However, this is not the first time that competing brands have collaborated to bring forth innovative devices in the market. HTC and Motorola have created Nexus smartphones and tablets.

The latest Sony Xperia Z3 sports 20.7 MP rear-facing camera with auto focus and 2.2 MP front-facing camera, while iPhone 6 models have 8 MP rear-facing camera.

Rumor mills are on fire as anticipation for thee next iPhone grows following record-breaking sales of iPhone 6. There are also speculations that iPhone 7 will carry the highest price tag ever, with a starting price in the neighborhood of $650 to $850.

The iPhone 6 saga has just started, but interest in how Apple will move forward after its immensely successful iPhone launch this year has grown at a record pace.

Apple's iPhone 6 leads the smartphone race in sales primarily due to massive changes and improvements to its specs, which consumers have not seen since the birth of Siri on iPhone 4S in 2011.

Both iPhone 6 models have increased memory capacity of up to 128 GB and processing speeds thanks to its A8 CPU has been impressive so far. Not to mention, that these are the thinnest and most sophisticated, design-wise, iPhones ever.

Now that iPhone 6 has reclaimed lost glory from its arch-nemesis Samsung, a lot is expected from its future successor as well.
