iPhone 7 release date, specs rumors: Fan technology to re-organize next smartphone components

The next iPhone offering is expected to carry minimal changes. That includes the same LCD-based display and physical design with the changes mainly happening internally.

One of those changes may be in this new technology component referred to as the 'fan out' technology per Korean website ET News. This calls for a more powerful and efficient use of chips which could render more room that could account for a smaller and thinner device.

If so, reorganizing the internal parts could make room for a larger battery, which means more power storage. Should rumors on the use of 'fan out' technology hold true, it will be the first time that such would be used on a smartphone.

Aside from the fact that it provides more room for the next Apple device, 'fan out technology' is also seen as something could also help out in the antenna switching module and radio frequency chip. This means that the next iPhone can switch to and from LTE and other antennas such as GSM and CDMA.

Previous months have racked up belief that Apple is leaning towards a thinner iPhone, which means the iteration of some common features. That includes the departure of the 3.5 mm jack and the shift towards lightning port use.

That would mean, of course, a change as well with the accompanying earphones for the said device or resorting to Bluetooth-based headphones for audio rendering. It is also believed to be something coming out with a dual-lens 12 MP camera for better image capturing for users.

Aside from those in mention, the iPhone 7 is not expected to offer drastic re-design from the outside.

The iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus are likely to come out by the fall and is said to be fairly similar to what the current iPhone 6s is today sans the antenna bands and the thinner body.
