While the leaks about the upcoming iPhone 7 lineup have been arriving at a fast and furious pace, and experts believe that almost all its features have been revealed, a recent one threw a spanner into their thinking. In this particular leak that consisted of an image of the iPhone 7, there were indications that the home button on the device will be replaced with a touch-sensitive version.

This particular change to the home button on the iPhone 7 was spotted when an image of it was leaked on MobiPicker. Upon closer examination, it was seen that the home button was not indented as it is on current models of the iPhone, like the iPhone 6s which was released last year. Instead, the upcoming home button might just be a circle drawn on the glass. There are also indications that it is touch-sensitive but it will also be able to operate as a fingerprint scanner. More importantly, the technology needed for fingerprint recognition will be positioned under the glass of the button.

The 3D Touch technology which Apple introduced in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus last year is going to be included in the new home button. This will give users access to more features and functions when they use the home button, and experts believe it will become almost similar to how Android phones operate. So far, among the many leaks concerning the iPhone, not much information has been revealed about the home button.

Many of the leaks have also indicated that this year's iPhone lineup is going to be very similar to last year's models and the design is not going to inspire customers. Also, leaked cases have shown that the iPhone 7 models are going to be able to fit into the cases of the phones released over the past two years. Therefore, the rumors that a new touch-sensitive button is going to be introduced has caused a lot of excitement. However, others have cautioned that this is just a rumor based on a blurry image and it could very well turn out to be fake.
