In the absence of any confirmed piece of information from Marvel Studios, rumors on the next "Iron Man" solo movie continue to surface. After it was rumored recently that a female would suit up as the new Iron Man in the movies, the latest in the rumor mill is that Dr. Doom will be the new iron-clad power character.

Apparently, the rumor came into existence after a former Marvel Comics illustrator Alex Maleev shared on Twitter his creation of Dr. Doom wearing the Iron Man armor. According to a report of Comic Book Resources, Marvel is releasing a new "Iron Man" comic book storyline this fall that will be titled "The Infamous Iron Man," which will be concurrent with another "Iron Man" comic book story, "Invincible Iron Man," which, on the other hand, focuses on the other "new" Iron Man, Riri Williams, a 15-year-old Afro American woman.

Now, fans can only wonder how the changes and the events in the comic books will affect the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although the studio is known for being not fully faithful to the comic book counterparts of the movie it produces, more often than not, its live-action film features still have the elements of their print origins.

As far as "Iron Man 4" is concerned, it has already been long rumored that Robert Downey Jr. will no longer reprise the role for a standalone film feature as, reportedly, he is too old for the role. Nonetheless, he is expected to appear as the iron-clad superhero in other Marvel movies, such as Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: Homecoming," which is slated for a release next year.

However, there are also rumors that Marvel might kill Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," which will pave way for the introduction of the new Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If this rumor turns out to be true, whose Iron Man will Marvel Cinematic Universe usher into the movies as the new Iron Man: Dr. Doom or Riri Williams?

Fans can only wait and see.
