Is Apple working on an iPod Touch 6G?

Gone were the days when iPod Touch was a very popular device, but ever since smartphones pretty much scooped up all its functions, it's a bit useless if the rumored iPod Touch 6G will still be put out in the market.

It's always a long wait when it comes to the iPod Touch. The 5th Gen was released in October of 2012, and the 6th Gen was supposed to be released sometime in the the 4th quarter of 2014. In the end, Apple decided to go with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and their new Retina Display on the iMacs, which are all big-time money magnets.

Apple doesn't want the iPod Touch 6G to share the attention of the three devices.

Nevertheless, Apple loyalists are still waiting for the 6th Gen, and whether or not Apple will push through with the project is still unknown. The company is tight-lipped about it, and it wasn't even mentioned in Apple's recent product launchings.

When an electronic giant like Apple doesn't confirm anything, it drives the online community to hope for rumors and tidbits here and there. Some reported that its display size will be 4.7 inches or 5.5, and will run on A8 chip, both of these features are just like in the iPhone 6.

It will be equipped with the staple Apple software such as the Apple Pay, Siri, the new Retina Display, and will also carry iOS8. It will be powered by a dual-core A5 or A9 processor, and will most likely stick with the vibrant colors its known for.

Rumors say that the iPod Touch 6th Gen will be launched alongside the Apple Watch in March 2015.

But the most important question remains: will it ever come out? Or did Apple already conclude the iPod Touch generation with the 5th edition?
