Actor Jason Dohring has been announced to join the cast of "iZombie" season 3, and his role is speculated to be the new love interest of Liv Moore, the lead character played by actress Rose McIver.

Dohring will portray a character named Chase Graves, who will first appear in the eighth episode, which is titled "Eat a Kinevel." From his name, it could already be confirmed that he will be part of the Fillmore Graves, a company introduced in the last episode of "iZombie" season 2.

It would be recalled that Fillmore Graves was introduced as being headed by Vivian Stoll (Andrea Savage). She was the one who bought Max Rager from Vaughn Du Clark (Steven Weber). She introduced herself as a zombie, who is looking to make Seattle a haven for their kind.

Chase is her brother in-law and, since Fillmore Graves is expected to be the upcoming season's big bad, it remains to be seen whether he is a friend or a foe.

During the San Diego Comic-Con, series creator Rob Thomas shared that someone new will enter Liv's life in season 3. He also said that the new love interest will not suffer the same fate as Liv's previous love interests wherein one died and the other turned into a zombie.

He said, "Liv will have a love interest this year who will not die." He also hinted that the relationship will not last long but also revealed, "the relationship will not end because of death."

Perhaps the next love interest will no longer die because he is already undead. And perhaps the reason why the affair will not last long is because of their different stands when it comes to zombies and humans.

"iZombie" season 3 does not have a premiere date yet, but it is expected to happen in mid-2017.
