CW's "iZombie," based on the DC comic book of the same name, will be returning soon for its second season.

After an explosive and suspenseful season one finale, Liv (Rose McIver) made the ultimate sacrifice giving up the cure for Major (Robert Buckley) and nemesis Blaine (David Anders). The finale was also notable, with people close to Liv finally finding out her secret.

The show finally released the official season two trailer, that will give a quick look in to the events of the upcoming season.

When the show returns, a few months have passed since the events of season one.

Liv's loved ones are still mad at her, including her mother, due to the fact that Liv refused to give blood to help her brother. Major is also still unhappy with Liv, wishing that she told him the truth.

Liv, on the other hand, does not regret giving up the cure for Major. However, Liv would give anything to become a human again. To help her, Ravi will spend season two trying to track down the tainted Utopium, which could give Liv her cure.

Meanwhile, Blaine couldn't be any happier, having turned human again. His transformation, however, will pose some problems for his business. Blaine will have to fool his clientele that he is still a zombie.

It also seems that Blaine and Major aren't in the clear just yet. "The cure is not perfect. There will absolutely be side effects," executive producer Rob Thomas revealed.

Season two will also see former rivals, Liv and Blaine, working together to "fight a bigger evil" after they discover that the zombies are disappearing and dwindling in numbers. "If zombies were the aggressors in season one, they're put a little bit more on the defensive side," Thomas added.

McIver also revealed what's in the menu for the first three episodes: grumpy old man brain, frat boy brain and Seattle housewife brain.

Robert Knepper also joins season two, playing the role of Blaine's father, Angus. Angus has always been disappointed in Blaine's failures and won't be pleased when Blaine asks for financial help once more in season two.

Aly Michalka will also return for season two, after briefly leaving to pursue another project. Michalka's character, Peyton, would have been traipsing about in Europe to explain her absence.

Season two of "iZombie" premieres on Oct. 6, Tuesday, at 9/8 c on the CW.
