'Jessica Jones' season 2 release date, spoilers: To be released in 2017

(Facebook / Marvel's Jessica Jones)"Jessica Jones" is another series from Marvel Cinematic Universe shown on Netflix

The announcement of a follow-up season was made in January, and fans have been waiting since then to know when "Jessica Jones" season 2 will be shown. Now, it can be told that no premiere is happening this year since production takes place in 2017.

The information was revealed by producer and writer Melissa Rosenberg to Bloomberg. She reveals that writing is already underway and may have hinted on the reason why production has to wait a little longer.

"Jessica Jones" is about a woman with superhuman strength who runs a detective agency. The story, Rosenberg described, is "grounded in the streets," which makes New York the best place to shoot the scenes. However, New York is such a busy place where all things happen all at once, which makes it more difficult to schedule the place for filming.

She also shared that season 1 was shot during the cold months of January and February, but their efforts obviously paid off as "Jessica Jones" fared well in the ratings and with critics.

The writer is all praises for lead actress Krysten Ritter as well saying, "Man, Ritter just went for it. She is fearless, that woman. We didn't fake anything."

Aside from the character Jessica Jones, viewers were also drawn to her adoptive sister and best friend Trish Walker. Perhaps, it is her storyline of being broken inside while struggling to appear powerful all the time that endeared her to the viewers.

There are talks saying that the second season will delve deeper into her character and will feature more of her alter ego, Hell Cat. Will Simpson, whom the sisters helped save from Kilgrave in the previous season, is also said to become Nuke, the main villain for season 2.

More news and updates on "Jessica Jones" season 2 should arrive soon.
