Jordanian Sheikh says there is no 'Palestine' in Quaran

Israel killed three senior Hamas commanders in an air strike on the Gaza Strip on Thursday, the clearest signal yet that Israel is intent on eliminating the group's military leadership after a failed attempt on the life of its top commander this week. Hamas, which dominates Gaza, named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in the bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah. All three were described as senior Hamas military figures.

A Jordanian Sheikh has said on his Facebook page, that nothing is written about "Palestine" in the Quran in a Jewish website reports.

Sheikh Ahmad Adwan, who says he is a Muslim scholar explained that according to the Quran, "Allah has assigned the Holy Land to the Children of Israel until the Day of Judgment," jewsnews.co.il reported.

He also mentioned a verse saying that the Children of Israel are the inheritors of the land.

The post is in response to the long history of the Israel-Palestine land dispute.

Adwan's careful study of the Quaran reportedly reveals that Palestine's demand for the Land of Israel is a falsehood and is an attack on the Quran.

Because of this, "Allah will fail and humiliate" the Palestinians as he will protect the Jews.

The sheikh noted, "The Palestinians are the killers of children, the elderly and women.

"They attack the Jews and then they use those (children, the elderly, and women) as human shields and hide behind them, without mercy for their children as if they weren't their own children, in order to tell the public opinion that the Jews intended to kill them," the elderofziyon.blogspot.com reported.

He said that is what happened in the 1970's when the Palestinians attacked the Jordanian army.

"They brought their children forward to (face) the Jordanian army, in order to make the world believe that the army kills their children."

Adwan considers this a habit and a custom, lying to the world in order to get public support.

In an interview with the Israeli in Arabic site, the sheikh said that his openness stems from his acknowledgment of the Jews' sovereignty on the land.

He also said that he believes in the Koran and what this reveals to him. He mentioned verses saying that Allah assigned the land to the Israelites.
