'Justice League' cast news, plot rumors: Jesse Eisenberg, Connie Nielsen to reprise roles in ensemble film

(Facebook/justiceleagueofficial)"Justice League" will hit theaters on Nov. 10, 2017.

DC fans are eagerly awaiting the debut of the superhero group, Justice League of America, in the eponymous film, "Justice League." However, thanks to a press kit, the good guys won't be the only ones returning.

According to Collider, the press kit released by Warner Bros. reveals that Jesse Eisenberg will be reprising his role as Lex Luthor. It can be recalled that viewers were introduced to Eisenberg's version of the bald baddie in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." And it makes sense that his character will be returning, given the way things ended in that film.

Apart from Eisenberg, Connie Nielsen will also make an appearance. Nielsen is set to make her first outing as Diana Prince's mother, Hippolyta, in the June 2017 film, "Wonder Woman," starring Gal Gadot as the princess of the Amazons on Themyscira.

The publication notes that Nielsen's character will definitely be key in the upcoming ensemble superhero film since the plot alludes to her inclusion. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" introduces the Mother Boxes and it has been said that the Themyscirans happen to be keeping one of them. However, it remains to be seen if Hippolyta will have signifcant screen time.

Filming for "Justice League" has already wrapped, and director Zack Snyder is already in the process of post-production. Entertainment Weekly managed to talk to Snyder about the upcoming film and exclusively published a photo featuring Batman (Ben Affleck), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Wonder Woman.

"I'm super happy with the chemistry of my league of justice doers," gushed Snyder.

The director also talked about one of the newcomers in the scene, The Flash, aka Barry Allen. This will be Miller's first official outing as the character, after making cameo appearances in "Batman v Superman" and "Suicide Squad." More recently, Miller starred as Credence in "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

"Flash is Ringo Starr," he explained. "He annoys everybody, but he doesn't have any specific beef with anyone."

Hopefully, it won't be the same case with fans. However, they'll have to wait until next year to judge for themselves since "Justice League" will not bow in theaters until Nov. 10, 2017.
