Although DC and Warner Bros. haven't announced who will play the role of Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in the upcoming "Justice League" live-action movie, nor have they confirmed that the DC superhero will make an appearance in the said film, it is now rumored that the character will be introduced in the post-credits scene of "Justice League."

Many fans have wondered why the upcoming and first-ever live action film feature of the group of superheroes is devoid of the presence of Green Lantern, when, in fact, in the animated version of the league of DC superheroes, he is one of the founding members.

Prior to the commercial release of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" (BVS) earlier this year, it was heavily rumored that actor Dan Amboyer would be introduced as the new actor to breathe life to the said superhero. However, the movie started and ended without Amboyer donning the green suit and the power-wielding ring.

However, the latest in the rumor mill is that "Justice League" may finally tease the character at the post-credits of "Justice League" and will usher him in as an official member of the league in "Justice League 2."

It is also said that "Justice League" will mark the return of the Green Lantern Corps to Earth, and will set the arrival of their eponymous movie slated for a 2020 release.

The rumor saying that Hal Jordan/Green Lantern will be introduced in the post-credits scene of "Justice League" stemmed from DC All Access reporter Jason Inman, who floated the possibility of the appearance of the superhero in the said movie on his YouTube channel.

Earlier, there were reports saying that DC may be introducing two Earth-bound Green Lanterns in "Justice League:" Hal Jordan and John Stewart. However, based on Inman's statements, it is likely that "Justice League" will welcome Hal Jordan only.

Green Lantern was last portrayed by now "Deadpool" actor Ryan Reynolds, whose version of the movie failed to make an impact at the box office in 2011, earning less than US$300 million only for its worldwide gross.

"Justice League" is slated to arrive in theaters on Nov. 16, 2017 and will star Henry Cavill (Superman), Ben Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Ray Fisher (Cyborg), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), and Ezra Miller (The Flash).

Meanwhile, "Justice League Part 2" is slated to arrive on June 14, 2019.
