The Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to a girl, the couple's second child and a sister to one-year-old Prince George.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, gave birth to a beautiful, angelic little Princess on Saturday at 8.34 a.m. at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital. The Telegraph reports that the cherubic baby arrived just 154 minutes after Kate was admitted to the Paddington hospital.

Several super-fans of the Royal family and media outlets were camped outside the hospital for days in order to catch the first glimpse of Prince William's second child. Members of the Royal family and the 33-year-old Duchess expressed their happiness at the arrival of the newborn. Kate said she was "very, very pleased" but tired. Prince William and his wife together presented a happy picture on the steps of St. Mary's hospital as they stood there for the world to greet the arrival of the Princess.

The child was covered in a white shawl with a bonnet over her head for protection against the early evening chill. The threesome painted a picture perfect family with the Duchess sporting a white silk shift dress with buttercup prints. As per a rule change, the newborn baby girl will be addressed as the Princess of Cambridge. Prior to the change, she would have been called Lady. The Royal family has yet to announce her name.

Weighing just 8lbs 3oz, the Princess slept through the flashlights and media glare before being taken home to Kensington Palace where the family will stay for a few days. After that, they will be heading to their country home in Amner Hall. At 11 a.m., the town crier gave an official statement from the Palace stating "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am. The baby weighs 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

The Week reports that the Princess will be known as the Princess Royal later in life and is fourth in line to the throne after Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George. Baby George arrived at the hospital to meet his younger sister. This was his first public appearance since his birth. Bookies have already begun accepting bets for the possible names of the Princess, including Alice, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Victoria.
