A recent story detailing singer Katy Perry's pregnancy and impending wedding to fellow singer John Mayer are reportedly not true, according to various sources close to the pop star. The rumor stemmed from a magazine cover with the headline "Katy's Pregnant!" and an accompanying photo of Perry with an arrow pointed towards a supposed "baby" bump. The cover also had a sub-headline of "Planning a spring wedding", likely in reference to a Perry-Mayer engagement.

An article from the Hollywood Life quoted a trusted source close to Perry who strongly denies the rumors. The source explained that Perry's career is on the rise and the timing just isn't right for the singer to settle down.

"Katy's personal life is not in a place where she would even consider it right now. She and John have had a lot of ups and downs and are still figuring things out. She absolutely loves him, but sometimes love isn't enough," according to the source.

Another report, this time from the Daily Mail, cites another source who stressed that Perry is currently focused on her world tour and is understandably unable to even consider the possibility of having a baby. Perry is set to begin a world tour on Friday that will take her to France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, China, Japan, and many other countries. The last performance date is currently scheduled at May 14 later this year.

"She is busy nonstop and the tour is very demanding. She could not do those shows if she was with child. It's just impossible. She has to dance and fly in the air and do all these stunts. She needs to be in top shape," the source added.

While it seems that the rumors are most likely untrue, that doesn't rule out a baby and a wedding for Perry and Mayer in the far flung future. The couple seem to have once again reunited following a bitter break-up.
