Katy Perry will once again stage a spectacle, this time for the 2015 Super Bowl halftime show. Perry is known for the extravagance of her performances, and the halftime spot is the perfect venue for her to showcase her live expertise.

The Super Bowl is one of the most-watched sporting events in television, with advertisements spots placed in legendary price ranges. Upon hearing the news for herself, Perry immediately announced the update through her Twitter account, saying that she is already thinking and testing out ideas for the big show.

"Yeppers! And I've already started testing out ideas!" said the 'Dark Horse' singer on the social media site.

Perry will follow a Super Bowl halftime show legacy built by the industry's biggest stars such as Beyonce, Prince, Michael Jackson, The Blues Brothers, The Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder, Gloria Estefan, and The Black Eyed Peas to name a few.

Last year's halftime show was led by Bruno Mars, guested by legendary band Red Hot Chili Peppers, with a performance that drew 115.3 million viewers based on Nielsen ratings.

Perry's band couldn't hide their excitement as well, according to another Twitter post by the singer.

"My band is in the other room screaming at the TV (and each other) over this Cowboys-Giants game. Can't wait for February 1st..." wrote Perry in a separate post.

Other acts that were rumored to perform for the 2015 show were Rihanna and Coldplay, with the spot ultimately going to Perry.
