Fans are still waiting for the promised collaboration of hip hop stars Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole. At the moment though, both are busy with their solo projects.

As per Christian Today, Lamar has just finished his work alongside Sia. He was featured in the singer's latest song, "The Greatest," which was reportedly a tribute to the victims in the Florida shootout.

The world was shocked when news of the violent incident in the Pulse nightclub was released. Lamar and Sia's song is said to be in honor of the fallen. Lamar is also being rumored to be part of the video which also features Maddie Ziegler. Fans are quick to note though that his lyrics were not included in the video.

As for Cole, he has recently been seen wearing Colin Kaepernick's jersey while performing "A Tale of 2 Citiez" in front of a large crowd. The quarterback from the San Francisco 49ers made headlines when he talked about the oppression of the black community in the United States.

Dreamville Records president Ibrahim Hamad said in a previous interview that the much-awaited collaboration between Lamar and Cole would still happen, but fans would probably have to wait a little longer.

"When he said that, we knew it was a stretch, but at the end of the day Cole is Cole and he knows what he's doing. He has his way of getting things done and I think that at the end of it all, it will be way worth it...Whatever he had planned in February, whatever it is, it'll be way more worth it if people just like, know that he, he's kinda like a mad scientist with his thing. He's like a little mad scientist," Hamad said, according to Christian Today.

Meanwhile, The Bitbag claims that the collaboration might not push through because of Lamar. The hip hop artist allegedly prefers to team up with Travis Scott instead of Cole. The two recently released a song called "Goosebumps." Scott has said on an interview that Lamar came up to him and said he admires his music.
