There's still a lot currently unknown about "Kingdom Hearts 3," though recently revealed details now let fans know about certain elements that they should not expect to see in the upcoming game.

In a recent interview with Gamespot, co-director Tai Yasue revealed that worlds from the "Final Fantasy" franchise will not be in the game.

Yasue mentioned that some of the original worlds inside the game are already populated by some familiar faces from the "Final Fantasy" franchise.

Instead of "Final Fantasy" worlds, players can look forward to seeing more worlds inspired by different Disney movies and characters along with some original settings as well.

Even if "Kingdom Hearts 3" will not end up having any worlds taken from the "Final Fantasy" franchise, there's still a chance that some of those familiar characters will still be in the game, and they may just be inhabiting different settings than the ones fans may have known before.

In an earlier interview with Engadget, director Tetsuya Nomura also touched on the subject of worlds that are featured in the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise.

Nomura revealed that the developers plan to feature more worlds than the ones that wind up being included in the games, though some apparently get shelved as the games continue to progress and near completion.

Nomura also revealed that some worlds that don't usually end up being used for a certain game may still be included in a sequel, meaning "Kingdom Hearts 3" could feature some settings that have already been developed quite thoroughly before.

For now, it's still unclear exactly when fans will finally get a glimpse of the new worlds that they may get to visit and explore in the upcoming game.

With any luck, a release date along with other important details about "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be revealed in the near future.
