Square Enix has a list of anticipated games and "Kingdom Hearts 3" is one of those that gamers look forward to. With "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" update release scheduled this year, "Kingdom Hearts 3" is expected to follow soon.

While gamers are certain that "Kingdom Hearts 3's" development is underway, the developers and publishers have not shared details yet. An interview by The Koalition with "Kingdom Hearts Unchained X" producer Hironori Okayama, however, revealed that details about the game will be shared in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The interview caused excitement among gamers who are hoping that the release date will be announced. However, many believe that only details such as new features will be shared during the event, which takes place June 14–16.

"Kingdom Hearts" appeals to all generations since it combines characters from Disney and Final Fantasy. Aside from spectacular visuals, it takes players to a world where friendships are crucial in fighting evil. The game was first launched in 2002 for PlayStation 2. The three characters in the game are Sora, Kairi, and Riku. Sora is the main antagonist and he sets on a journey to search for his friends while battling with the army of darkness called the Heartless.

Along the way, Sora meets with over a hundred Disney and Final Fantasy characters who help him in his battle. The game has since been made available to other gaming modules including mobile phones. There have been different versions of the game as well that have all been successfully launched.

A recent statement from the series director Tetsuya Nomura states, "We hope 'Kingdom Hearts' fans can dive into the world of 'Kingdom Hearts' not only through this title but through the upcoming titles, 'Kingdom Hearts HD II.8 Final Chapter Prologue' and 'Kingdom Hearts III.'"
