Kingdom of Hearts 3 characters, release date update: New weapon, favorite Disney and Star Wars characters

Will Kingdom of Hearts 3 find its way in stores this year?

That's the big question. Fans have been waiting for official word regarding the release date of this popular role playing game.

It was initially believed that Square Enix is making the game available this year after the voice talent for Goofy, Bill Farmer, tweeted that the game is supposed to come out this year, in response to fan questions.

But Square Enix sent out a tweet saying that the release date for Kingdom of Hearts is still unconfirmed. Another reason why Kingdom of Hearts 3 won't be available for gamers early this year is the fact that Square Enix is prioritizing the release of Final Fantasy XV, according to Director Tetsuya Nomura. And since there's no official word when this is coming out, it's very unlikely that Kingdom of Hearts 3 will be available early this year.

What could be certain is the fact that the game will feature a new weapon for its protagonist, Sora. According to a report from Air Herald, a fan, who goes by the name "Zephyr" has revealed the update for Sora's Keyblade.

The fan, who participated in a Kingdom Hearts Event last year, shared that Sora's Keyblade will sport a new look. It can transform to a cannon, instead of two guns, and can adopt according to the enemies he encounters.

That's not all fans can expect from the new Kingdom of Hearts game.

Although unconfirmed, talks about having new characters joining its current roster are strong. Since Kingdom of Hearts 3 is a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney, it's possible that characters from Star Wars and other Disney films will find their way into the game.

Among those rumored to be included are Peter Pan, Mulan, Simba, Tarzan, Captain Jack Sparrow, Darth Vader, Elsa and even Iron Man.
