Enraged protesters in Bellville, Texas assembled outside an Austin County Courthouse early Wednesday, as the group of animal lovers and activists continued in their campaign of seeking justice for "Tiger", a cat purportedly killed by a Brenham vet named Kristen Lindsey.

The Austin County District Attorney's Office is currently investigating the matter. In relation to the investigation, District Attorney Travis Koehn released the following statement, as per this report at KBTX, "My office will carefully review this matter, as we do with all investigations forwarded by law enforcement. I appreciate that there has been intense worldwide interest in this case. As the case is presently under review, we have no other comment about the investigation at this time."

While a case has yet to be presented to the Austin County Grand Jury, the District Attorney Office has indicated that it is in the process of gathering all available evidence as they make their preparations to present the case. A decision on what charges, if any are to be filed, has yet to be made.

The investigation stems from a Facebook post made by Lindsey which showed a photo of her clutching an arrow that pierced a dead cat's head. The now deleted post included the message, "My first bow kill, lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it's head! Vet of the year award ... Gladly accepted." An animal rescue group later revealed that the depicted cat was not feral and was allegedly owned by an elderly couple living in the area.

Outraged netizens voiced their displeasure at the photograph, and several other callers phoned in to the Washington Animal Clinic where Lindsey was employed to seek answers. Lindsey was fired from her position shortly thereafter and has yet to release a public statement on the matter.
