Lauren Bacall, at age 89, died on August 12 in her Manhattan home after suffering a "massive stroke," according to his grandson, Jamie Bogart.

Bacall left her wealth to her children, grandchildren, and employees, and made sure that her dog, Sophie, was not left behind.

According to reports, Bacall left her dog, a Papillion Toy Spaniel dog named Sophie, $10,000 so it could continue to live luxuriously.

According to friends and neighbors of Bacall, the actress would often flaunt the dog in the neighborhood in a pampered manner.

Friends and family of the late Bacall say that the actress often showed her deep affection and love to Sophie, considering the dog as an important part of her life.

Bacall even took the four-legged creature to the premiere of "Birth," a movie where she appeared, in 2004.

It is reported that Bacall entrusted the money intended for Sophie to her youngest son, Sam Rombards, who will make sure that Sophie continues to get everything she needs.

A source, Jacqui Kaese, testifies that Bacall always took Sophie everywhere she went. Kaese said that when Bacall would bring Sophie to the set of 'Birth,' the dog was treated with respect by the crew and other cast members.

Kaese was an acting coach of one of the actors who also starred in 'Birth.'
