'Law and Order: SVU' Marcia Cross admires SVU's Hargitay; show takes a break

'Law and Order: SVU' will be going on an indefinite hiatus following the recently concluded sixteenth episode entitled "December Solstice". NBC did not include a promo for the next episode and declined from releasing a press release or official synopsis for the next episode.

Still, there's no reason to be alarmed, according to this report from Carter Matt. It's entirely possible that the network does not have any promotional material ready for the next episode or that the show's developers are simply doing some post-production work on the next few episodes. These kinds of breaks happen all the time and are often necessary to ensure the continued quality of a show.

NBC typically provides new information on upcoming episodes via press release so there's really no need to hunt the dark corners of the Internet for advance information on future 'SVU' episodes. For now, sit tight, and enjoy other forms of entertainment while waiting for the next few episodes of 'Law and Order: SVU' to air.

In other news, 'SVU' continues to post strong ratings in its timeslot. The long-running show has been going on for sixteen seasons now and it hasn't shown signs of slowing down. This season's episodes have posted viewers in the range of 8-10 million viewers per episode, an exceptional number that NBC should be more than happy with. With numbers like that, expect 'SVU' to continue anchoring NBC's primetime television lineup.

If you haven't seen episode sixteen yet, you can check out a review of the episode in this article at TV Fanatic. Actress Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives) makes a guest appearance in this episode. Cross recently talked to E Online where she professed an admiration for SVU cast regular Mariska Hargitay. That kind of respect should translate to some good onscreen chemistry for their episode together.
