'Law & Order: SVU' season 18 episode 5 spoilers: Benson to get in trouble with a friend

(Facebook/lawandordersvu)The squad takes on another sensitive case in the next episode of "Law & Order: SVU."

Benson (Mariska Hargitay) will be forced to choose between work and personal matters in the upcoming episode of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

NBC has announced that the episode titled "Unstoppable" will not be airing as previously teased. Instead, the episode titled "Rape Interrupted" will be shown on Oct. 26.

As the synopsis (via TV Guide) says, Benson's loyalty to a friend will be tested when she handles a case involving his son. Hargitay is set to reunite with Anthony Edwards, her co-star in the medical drama "ER," who will play the role of Sergeant Griffin. The police officer's son is being accused of rape. The Special Victims Unit (SVU) will handle the case and it is up to Benson and her team to prove if the charges are true.

Hargitay and Edwards played nurse Cynthia Hooper and Dr. Mark Greene, respectively, in the successful NBC drama "ER." They were each other's love interest.

In the upcoming episode, it looks like Edwards' character will ask Benson to drop the case against his son. Benson will not likely do it, since she is committed to her job to help the abused. This will put her in a difficult situation because Griffin is an old friend. Will she be able to prove that his son is innocent of the crime or will she be the one to escort him to jail?

Meanwhile, there is still no news on when NBC will air the episode allegedly inspired by Donald Trump's current scandals. In the episode titled "Unstoppable," Gary Cole will play the role of a popular politician being accused of sexual assault by several women. He is in the middle of campaigning for the elections when the accusations against him surface. In the promo, Cole is telling the press that a rich and handsome guy like him is the usual target of malicious gossip. He says it is not his fault that women fall all over him.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" airs Wednesdays, 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
