Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD vs. Nexus 9: these tablets are friendly on the purse and come with impressive hardware

For those on the lookout for budget tablets with good hardware, the Yoga Tablet 10 HD and the Nexus 9 are good options. Here is how these two tablets, which were released last year, compare in terms of hardware and design.

Design

Each of these tablets have great design in spite of being largely made of plastic, but the Yoga Tablet 10 HD has a steel cylinder incorporated into its kickstand which can be manipulated into three positions, with one position enabling it to be paired with a keyboard. As for the Nexus 9, it is smaller than its competitor but it has a metal band running along its rim which gives it an added touch of luxury. However, it does not have a kickstand. In terms of colors, the Nexus is available in black, white and sand while the Yoga Tablet 10 HD only comes in gray.

Display

The display on the Nexus 9 is smaller. It comes with an IPS LCD screen measuring 8.9 inches with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and a density of 281 pixels per inch. As for the Yoga Tablet 10 HD , it comes with an IPS LCD screen measuring 10.1 inches with a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels and a density of 224 pixels per inch.

Specs

The hardware on the Yoga Tablet 10 HD includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset a CPU with four Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz and an Adreno 305 GPU. As for the Nexus 9, it comes with an Nvidia Tegra K1chipset, a Denver CPU with two cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and a Kepler DX1 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory card slot on the Nexus 9 while the version on the Yoga Tablet 10 HD can be used to add up to 64 GB of external storage. As for RAM, each of these tablets has 2 GB on board.

Price

The Nexus 9 which is manufactured by HTC for Google costs $400 while the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD is priced at $420.
