Lenovo Vibe S1 news: Mid-range smartphone with dual front cameras now available in India

Lenovo has officially launched the Vibe S1 smartphone. The device was first introduced last September during the IFA 2015. Many consumers have been looking forward to the release of the Vibe S1 because of its unique dual front camera setup. 

The Lenovo Vibe S1 is a 5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 1080 x 1920 pixel screen resolution and 441 ppi pixel density. The display is housed in a metal frame and has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 panels at the front and back for protection. The device is 7.8 mm thick and weighs 132 grams. 

The mid-range device is powered by an octa-core 1.7 GHz 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 processor, a Mali-T760MP2 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. There is 32 GB of internal storage but it can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card. 

The Lenovo Vibe S1 is equipped with a 13 MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. For the dual front camera set up, there is an 8 MP camera that takes sharp photos and a secondary 2 MP camera that analyzes depth of field information. 

There smartphone also includes photo editing tools. Blur allows users to refocus their selfies and Cut Out allows users to cut out unwanted aspects of an image or superimpose some parts onto a different image. 

The Lenovo Vibe S1 is backed by a 2420 mAh battery. It comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box. It also has dual-SIM capability. Furthermore, there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. 

The device is being offered in two colors – Pearl White and Midnight Blue.

The Lenovo Vibe S1 is now available for the Indian market. It can be purchased exclusively from Amazon India for INR 15,999 which is about $240. Lenovo has yet to announce availability of the Vibe S1 in other international markets. Stay tuned to hear the latest announcements from Lenovo.
