LG G4 Note release date will be by year end to take on Samsung Galaxy Note 5

After releasing the leather-backed G4 to battle the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, LG now seems to be preparing an equally worthy adversary for the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 in the form of the G4 Note with high-end specs.

Following the global rollout of the LG G4 last week, the South Korean company had announced plans to introduce another flagship device in the second half of 2015. LG has been releasing two flagship phones every year and last year, it had launched the LG G Pro 2 and the LG G3 within months of one another. Apparently, the company now plans to stick to its dual flagship strategy this year as well and continue with the two-per-year model. LG had recently introduced the G4 Stylus, which is a phablet and follows the design of the G4, but given its lower specs and cheaper price, the device is unlikely to be capable of taking on the Galaxy Note 5.

Given LG's history and Samsung widely expected to launch the Galaxy Note 5 at the IFA 2015 scheduled to be held in September, the company's second flagship for the year could be another near-6-inch or more phablet, dubbed the G4 Note to take on Samsung. The LG G4 Note is rumored to come with a 5.7 or 5.9-inch 3K resolution display and a curved design. The phablet will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and is expected to be powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, along with 4GB RAM. The LG G4 Note is expected to offer 32GB of storage, which will be expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card, and a 3,500mAH battery.

The LG G4 Note is also expected to feature a 16 megapixel f1.8 rear camera and a 4mp front shooter, as well as a fingerprint scanner. LG's rumored new phablet is also speculated to arrive with a metal body, making it the first metal flagship device from the South Korean consumer electronics giant. Earlier leaked images of the upcoming LG G4 Note had shown the phablet with a Galaxy Note-like stylus on the top in place of the antenna slot.

Clearly, the G4 Note is aimed at taking on the competition from Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and could be LG's true flagship device for 2015. Stay tuned for more news, rumors and developments.
