LG G4 vs. Moto X Style: Both flagships offer impressive specs

With the release of the new flagship device from Motorola this week, the race between the Moto X Style and the LG G4 has heated up considerably. This is how these two phablets with almost similar hardware compare.

Design

The LG G4 has great design even though it does not have any metal on its body. It has a curve running from top to bottom that helps users hold the phablet comfortably especially when making calls. As for its back panel, the default versios come in polycarbonate which come in three colors, gold, white and gray, but they can easily be switched out with a leather panel that come in a variety of natural colors including brown and black.

The Moto X Style offers a wide range of customization options for its back panel. Users simply go to the Moto Maker website and choose among wood, leather and silicone in various colors. As for its front panel, users only have two options, white and black.

Display

The display on the Moto X Style is actually bigger. It comes with a capacitive touchscreen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 520 pixels per inch. As for the LG G4, it has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 538 pixels per inch.

Specs

There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset on each of these devices. As for their CPU, the LG G4 comes with a four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.82 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU while the Moto X Style has two Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.44 GHz and an Adreno 418 GPU.

Memory

As for microSD slots, each has a version that can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage. In terms of RAM, each has 3 GB onboard.

Price

The unlocked edition of the Moto X Style is to be sold at $399, although carriers might offer the device with a contract. As for the LG G4, it costs $199 with a two-year contract.
