The Moto 360 2 has been earning a lot of rave reviews since it was released, but there is now a new smartwatch in the market that is capable of taking on Motorola's new offering: the LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition. This is how the two devices fare in a comparison.

Design

The Moto 360 2 comes in two sizes: a 46 mm version for men and a 42 mm version for both men and women. Its body is circular and made from stainless steel, and it comes in silver, gold, rose gold, and black. As for straps, they are made from leather or stainless steel, come in a variety of colors, and the size of the band varies according to the body of the watch. Finally, coming to the waterproof and dust proof rating of the device, it has an IP67 certification and can remain submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes.

For the Watch Urbane 2nd edition, LG chose to create a round-bodied device and it, too, is made from stainless steel. However, it has full cellular capability, thanks to a nano-SIM card, which means it does not have to be paired with a smartphone to receive calls or notifications. As for colors, the body of the device comes in black, white, brown, and blue options. The bands, however, cannot be swapped as it has a number of hardware components inbuilt and so the user is restricted to choosing from elastomer versions created by LG. Finally, it has a similar IP67 rating like its competitor.

As for the operating system on these devices, both run Android Wear and so can be paired with iOS and Android devices.

Display

There is a P-OLED display measuring 1.38 inches on the Watch Urbane 2 and it has a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels and a density of 348 pixels per inch.

The smaller version of the Moto 360 2 has a 1.37-inch LCD display with a resolution of 360 x 325 pixels and a density of 263 pixels per inch, while the bigger model has a 1.56-inch display with a resolution of 360 x 330 pixels and density of 233 pixels per inch.

Specs

There is a similar Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset on each device and it is clocked at 1.2 GHz. However, when it comes to RAM, the Moto 360 2 has 512 MB while the Watch Urbane 2 has 768 MB. As for storage, each device has 4 GB onboard.

Sensors

Both smartwatches have heart rate sensors but the Watch Urbane 2 has GPS along with a gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer and compass, while the Moto 360 2 has an ambient light sensor, gyroscope, haptics engine and accelerometer.

Price

The Moto 360 2nd edition starts at $300 and then goes up to $430 depending on the straps or finishes chosen. As for the LG Watch Urbane 2nd edition, its official price tag has not been unveiled but its starting price could be between $300-350.
