'Longmire' producers are hard at work for the upcoming fourth season of the series, which was thankfully renewed by NetFlix following a brief cancellation period at A&E. There haven't been too many specific spoilers that need to be addressed, but there are a few bits and pieces of information regarding the new season.

In a previous report, potential plot points for the fourth season were discussed. To sum it up, the new season will follow up on the cliffhangers in the third season's final episode. Viewers are surely excited to find out the truth behind what Barlow actually did in that episode.

As for the release date and schedule, there is still no updated information at this time. However, there have been rumblings that 'Longmire' could potentially follow a different release format that it usually does now that it is on NetFlix.

Netflix has been experimenting with releasing all of a show's episodes in a season all at once, a format that plays well with Netflix's watch what you want, when you want system. Shows such as 'Arrested Development' released all of its episodes in one go on Netflix for its fourth season, and the upcoming 'House of Cards' will follow the same format for the season three release.

If this does becomes a trend, 'Longmire' might structure its episodes a bit more differently to take advantage of this format. Still, this is all still conjecture at this point in Longmire's case so we will just have to wait and see.

Fans who can't get enough of the show can look forward to the 'Longmire' season 3 DVD release. Warner issued a press release and it revealed that the DVD will contain all ten episodes of the third season and will include choice bonus features such as the documentary 'The Ghost in the Storm', which will put the spotlight on characters from the Longmire universe.

The DVD will be released on March 3 and an exclusive video teaser included in the collection can be found in this article at the Hidden Remote.
