"Longmire" fans breathed a sigh of relief when Netflix announced that it would pick up the former A&E series after it was axed by the network. Since the show left on a cliff-hanger during the finale of season three, viewers were overjoyed to hear the good news.

Right now, filming for "Longmire" is taking place. The cast and the crew are extremely generous in providing up-to-date information regarding filming of the show. They are presently in New Mexico shooting sequences. As per director TJ Scott's official Twitter account, the production team just finished filming its fourth episode. The tweet stated, "Drats, I'll be there next Friday & will miss meeting you! RT @TJScottPictures: Finished Directing ep 402 if #Longmire."

The director also tweeted that Netflix hasn't yet decided on a return date for season four but informed fans that filming is taking place. In the past, "Longmire" premiered its seasons in May or June but with the new format things may change. Netflix almost always releases all of the season's episodes on the release date, enabling viewers to watch shows anytime and anywhere.

Venture Capital Post speculates that season four will release in late 2015 or early 2016, nevertheless, the show can still make a June or July premiere date. Season four will have 10 episodes.

The death of "Longmire" crew member, Gary Joe Tuck, made headlines. The driver was working on an 18-hour shift and feel asleep at the wheel. Since then, Deadline reports, Netflix and Warner Horizon have taken steps to ensure the safety of its production team. This includes providing charter buses to take the crew to and from shooting locations that are located in remote regions. Crew should report one and a half hours before call time at the studio in order to board the charter bus. Many see this as a positive step towards safer working conditions.
