"Longmire" season 5 is currently in production, but that won't stop fans from scouring the Internet for possible spoilers and plot arcs in the new installment. And according to the word spreading online, it seems that a new family will be in town.

TVLine reports that a crime family of Irish descent will be introduced in the upcoming season. It was revealed that "Longmire" was looking to cast members of the family, who will play a part in season 5. The crime family will be involved in a drugs-related case, particularly murder, and Walt will take notice of that.

No word yet though on which actors or actresses have been cast in the said roles, but it certainly offers up an exciting bit of detail about the new season.

Other than that, an old character will be returning to the fifth season of the Netflix show, giving a well-timed blast from the past. Actress Katee Sackhoff, who plays Vic, revealed via her Twitter account that someone—she didn't say who—will be returning.

In other news, "Longmire" season 5 will reportedly show more development in the Walt and Vic turf. The two happily ended up together in the books from which the show is based on, so it wouldn't be a surprise if the showrunners chose to follow that storyline.

Walt is currently seeing someone though, but executive producer Hunt Baldwin has said it himself: "Obviously, I think that most fans know that there's some interesting tension between her [Vic] and Walt. But there are also some new characters entering the world that are going to complicate that."

This could mean that the showrunners intend to put Walt and Vic together, but it's going to be a long and difficult road. Regardless, fans of the couple will undoubtedly be overjoyed at the revelation, if it proves to be true.

Stay tuned for the latest news and updates.
