Los Angeles Clippers trade rumors 2016: Signs of Chris Paul leaving?

Despite being one of the stars for the Los Angeles Clippers, point guard Chris Paul is still being dragged to the trade rumor mill. And now, as he tries to sell his home in Bel-Air, the speculations just continue to swirl.

In the Los Angeles Times' report, it was stated that Paul placed the property, which he bought from pop star Avril Lavigne a few years back, on the market.

Because it is the off-season, the move was viewed by some as an indication of Paul's future departure from Los Angeles.

Paul is constantly being linked to a number of teams and along with this, issues involving him and fellow Clippers star Blake Griffin are also circulating.

Next year, Paul can be a free agent and some think he is going to part ways with the Clippers to play for a different organization which can help him win a championship. The 31-year-old's rumored misunderstanding with Griffin could also be a reason for him to leave Lob City.

Meanwhile, others suggest that instead of letting Paul just walk away in 2017 the Clippers may trade him to get the best for his value while they still can.

In 2017, the Clippers are in danger of undergoing the rebuilding process if key players like Paul enter the free agency market and end up signing with different teams.

Before this happens, the Clippers can accomplish deals to acquire players who will replace them or give the franchise an easier time rebuilding.

For now, the Clippers are yet to show concrete signs that they plan to trade Paul, Griffin, or any of their stars. Following the 2015-16 season, the team's head coach and president of basketball operations Doc Rivers already expressed the desire of keeping the current core intact and that is what they have done so far.
