MacBook Pro 2016 release date: Even more specs and features revealed; supply may be limited upon launch

(Apple)The MacBook Pro 2016, the follow-up to the MacBook Pro (pictured), is expected to be launched on Oct. 27.

With the MacBook Pro 2016's debut just days away, even more details about what this new laptop will be like have floated around online yet again.

This time around, it's KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has revealed more details regarding what the new laptop may feature.

Mac Rumors has shared Kuo's latest predictions.

In line with many of the rumors that have emerged concerning the new MacBook Pro, Kuo predicts that the new laptop will feature Thunderbolt 3, Touch ID and USB-C support. The analyst also noted that the new laptop may come with an OLED touch bar that is expected to take the place of the conventional function keys.

Kuo is also predicting that some under-the-hood upgrades may be on the way for the MacBook Pro 2016. Improvements may come in the form of an upgraded processor – Intel's Skylake processor may be used – as well as some memory changes.

Previous rumors have also hinted that the new laptop may be redesigned slightly to make it even slimmer.

Along with the new spec rumors, more details about the availability of the laptop itself have also emerged recently.

Speaking to Forbes, IHS Markit Technology analyst Rhoda Alexander shared that "supply is going to be tight on these initially." Alexander added that production of the laptop may have only started this quarter, so that may explain why units of the new MacBook Pro may be limited initially.

Still, even if the new laptop may not be readily available right away, many people will likely be glad to just see it for the first time.

The new laptop has been rumored to come out at various points throughout this year, but now, with Apple set to host an event on Oct. 27, it finally seems as though the time for the device's debut is almost here.

More news about the MacBook Pro 2016 should be made available in the near future.
