The popular period drama "Mad Men" is set to conclude with the series' final episode airing on May 17. The episode entitled "Person to Person" has the unenviable task of bringing to an end  one of the finest television series in recent memory. If the past few episodes are any indication, viewers can expect to learn more about leading man Don Draper's final fate.

Series chief Matthew Weiner spoke to the New York Times in an interview and revealed how the show would approach the final episode. "I am telling the story about these characters and this is the next step in the story," he said.

Weiner added that the show's fans should not expect a "greatest hits" montage of sorts to conclude the series and should expect something more substantial. "I am not doing the same show every week. I'm not going to just take these last seven episodes and just do the greatest hits. We're not going to dissolve to a frame from the pilot and play 'Through the Years'," he said.

As for specific details on what would happen in the finale, Weiner declined to divulge any such information and even indicated that he won't be available to speak about it even after the episode is aired. Still, Weiner indicated that he and his team have put in a lot of effort to ensure that viewers would be happy with the finale.

Still, excited viewers can instead view a video trailer of the final episode in this article from The Mirror UK. The short teaser focuses on the show's various actors, with the most prominent one being the series lead, Jon Hamm. The video itself is full of memorable moments from past episodes, though judging from Weiner's earlier comments, it would appear that the content is mostly for promotional purpose.

"Mad Men" concludes this May 17 on AMC.
