The creator of AMC's Mad Men shared a couple of thoughts on the success of the show and the final half of the last season.

The critically acclaimed AMC show about the lives of Manhattan advertising executives is coming to an end, and creator Matthew Weiner is feeling more than proud of his accomplishments on the show. The former writer and producer of The Sopranos received the prestigious Founders Award during the 2014 International Emmys, which was presented to him by Mad Men stars Christina Hendricks and John Slattery.

When asked about the final part of the last season, Weiner said that the shooting is done and there's no way that anyone can get a hold of spoilers or details surrounding it.

"It's all done, and it's in a locked storage facility," said Weiner in an interview. Weiner added that even the cast is decided to keep the secrecy intact.

"The great thing about this cast is we're all sort of in a conspiracy together," continued Weiner.

Weiner and the rest of the writers decided to split the last season in half, as if trying to conform to other AMC hit series, The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad. Though Mad Men has been around quite longer (2007), this is the first time that the show decided to break seasons in half.

When asked what his future plans after Mad Men, Weiner became a little sentimental on the journey he shared with Jon Hamm and the rest of the cast and crew of the successful show.

"Honestly, on some level people have changed dramatically, but they haven't changed that much. Babies have been born. People have gotten married. People have gotten divorced. The life of being together for almost eight years -- it's been pretty wonderful," shared Weiner in the same interview.
