Fans of the comic book 'Ant-Man' have something cheer about, now that Marvel's movie adaptation is moving along with its production.

What's even more exciting for fans is how Marvel released a production photo just a day after announcing that they have started filming.

In the photo, Paul Rudd is seen as Jason Lang, and it looks like the protagonist is sporting a rugged, gritty look.

Rudd's Lang, sporting a rebellious eyebrow piercing, is seen wearing a black hoodie over a shirt, with another jacket over it, while he carries a bag. The smoky backdrop shows the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, with an old, vintage van on Lang's side.

Just by looking at the photo, the mood and tone for the anticipated movie can already be seen. MTV calls it "Marvel's grittiest film yet," based on the released production photo.

The movie's plot will mimic the comic book's with Lang forming a close relationship with a scientist named Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas.

Lang will become the subject and sort of "guinea pig" to Pym's invention of a suit that can shrink Lang to the size of an ant but gives him intense strength.

Ant-Man is one of the first Avengers to ever be drawn in comic book, dating as far as 1962. It will be no surprise if Ant-Man will appear in Avengers 3, after the buzz around Age of Ultron has receded.
