'Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite' rumors: Will even more gameplay changes be introduced?

The "Marvel vs Capcom" series is not just about allowing members of the Marvel universe to go into battle with characters featured in Capcom games, as fans will be able to experience the franchise's distinct gameplay style once again in "Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite."

Previous offerings of the franchise featured easy-to-pick-up gameplay, one that even novice players could toy around with just for a while and pull off an impressive offensive move.

A trailer recently released for the game seems to show that the franchise's familiar gameplay style is being retained, and yes, different characters will apparently still be able to combine to pull off devastating combos.

Changes are incoming, however, and developers have already detailed some of them.

In a post over on Capcom Unity, developers talked about the Infinity Stones and how they can factor into matches. An Infinity Stone can provide a character with special abilities - ones that can help him/her suddenly change the flow of the fight.

There are six different Infinity Stones included, and each one is expected to grant a distinct ability.

These Infinity Stones are already expected to significantly make things different inside "Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite," but it's likely that even more changes will be introduced later on.

Going back to the trailer, viewers may notice that Mega Man X and Captain Marvel had their appearances change while in battle. Perhaps that is a teaser of things to come, and certain characters in the new fighting game will be able to change their forms and retain their new appearances for extended periods.

Developers could also decide to make team play a bigger component of the upcoming game by introducing more moves that they will be able to execute.

Players will likely be able to learn more about the different gameplay elements of "Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite" in the months ahead, and the game itself is expected to come out late next year.
