Mass Effect 4 may not see any action this year, instead giving way to the Dragon Age Inquisition release date on November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe.

However, the buzz around the internet intensified after Amazon listed two new Mass Effect ads for PS4 and Xbox One.

Both items have received a release date of December 31, 2014.

It may be recalled that in July, game producer Mike Gamble confirmed that the game is still on its infancy stage of development and could be "years away" from takeoff.

It is also interesting to note that Dragon Age Inquisition's launch date was delayed by a month, from the original target of an October consumer release.

Mark Darrah explained, "This last bit of time is about polishing the experience we want you to see. Ensuring that our open spaces are as engaging as possible. Strengthening the emotional impact of the Hero's choices. And ensuring the experience you get is the best it can be in the platform you choose to play on."

Ecumenical News reported early in July that there is a big likelihood that Mass Effect 4 will be launched in 2015 and that Shepard will be missing in action in the storyline for this installment.

BioWare, the developers of the Mass Effect franchise, has a lot of things on their plate at the moment.

Aside from Dragon Age Inquisition, the Canadian video game creators are also working on a new RPG game entitled Shadow Realms, which combines contemporary setting with fantasy and features four versus one multiplayer in action.

Moreover, Executive Producer Casey Hudson, the genius behind the Mass Effect trilogy recently left BioWare for a much-needed break and new challenges.
