'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date, rumors: Additional details regarding new game's upcoming launch revealed

(Mass Effect official website)'Mass Effect: Andromeda' is set to be released early next year

All the specifics related to "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" upcoming launch aren't known just yet, though the platforms it will call home have already been revealed.

After it was revealed that Electronic Arts (EA) would be one of the third-party publishers that would be supporting the soon-to-be released Nintendo Switch, many fans immediately began to ask if that could mean that "Andromeda" will be one of the new gaming platform's first titles.

Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case.

Responding recently to a fan asking over on Twitter whether "Andromeda" may soon be announced for the Nintendo Switch, producer Michael Gamble replied by listing the platforms that are currently set to get the game.

Gamble listed the PC, PS4, the PS4 Neo and the Xbox One as the platforms that would host the upcoming game, so it would seem that "Andromeda" heading to the Nintendo Switch will not be happening, or at least not yet.

Gamble did note that those are the plans for now, but whether or not that remains the reality heading into the future remains to be seen.

While some fans may be disappointed that the new science fiction game isn't set to be released for the new Nintendo gaming platform for now, there's still some positive news regarding "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" ongoing development.

Over on Twitter, lead designer Ian Frazier touched on where the game is at currently in terms of its development, revealing that recent user interface, lighting and audio improvements have made a significant difference.

That little update alone may not be enough for fans who are looking for more concrete details regarding "Andromeda," but the good news is that plenty of new information should be shared very soon.

Developers have already shared that they will reveal more about "Mass Effect: Andromeda" on N7 Day (Nov. 7), and with that special date just less than two weeks away, fans should finally learn even more about this eagerly anticipated science fiction title shortly.
