'Masters of the Universe' reboot; Kellan Lutz rumored to play Prince Adam a.k.a. 'He-Man'

There are reports suggesting of a revamp of the 80's cartoon classic "Masters of the Universe" on the big screen and rumor has it that "The Legend of Hercules" actor Kellan Lutz will play as Prince Adam of the planet Eternia, who's also known as He-Man.

Lutz even mentioned on his social media account that he spoke with "Charlie's Angels" director McG (Joseph McGinty Nichol) and Wonderland Sound and Vision president, Mary Viola, and added that the rumored "Masters of the Universe" film is well taken care of.

However, there was no additional information given regarding the status of the said project and the people mentioned have yet to comment on the circulating rumors.

In addition, if ever the said project would push through, it will be distributed by Sony Pictures and Escape Artists.

Lutz, on the other hand, has starred in numerous films aside from "The Legend of Hercules" whom critics have heavily panned. He was also known for his role as Emmett Cullen in the "Twilight" movie series in which one of his famous scenes was an arm wrestling match with Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) that he eventually lost to. Lutz also played as the god of the sea Poseidon in 2011's "The Immortals," and as part of the cast in the third installment of the movie "The Expendables."

Meanwhile, the plot of the yet-to-be-confirmed "Masters of the Universe" film is not yet known, but reports suggest it will follow the storyline of the animated series where Prince Adam, also known as He-Man, will be challenged once again by his age-old nemesis, Skeletor, who happens to be his uncle in the animated series. Another notable question would be as to who will play the role of He-Man's twin sister, Princess Adora, who's also known as She-Ra.

If everything falls into plan, and if McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision confirms such project, production might start January next year.
