A new image of the Meizu MX Supreme posted online has further fuelled rumors that Nokia and Chinese handset manufacturer, Meizu are collaborating to release an international version of the MX4 flagship.

Rumors of Nokia and Meizu working together to build the MX Supreme began doing the rounds in January this year. The MX Supreme is purported to be an Android-powered device with Nokia's PureView technology adorning the back. Last week, a single leaked image of the MX Supreme, which is thought to be a retooled Nokia Lumia 1030, had surfaced on Chinese social networking site Weibo, suggesting that it could offer a 60MP rear camera.

The latest live image of the MX Supreme shows the device with an oval home button that is likely to have a fingerprint scanner embedded inside. The body appears to have a metallic edge frame with ultra-thin screen bezels, indicating that the device could be made of premium quality material.

The current MX4 flagship features a 5.36-inch IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1152 pixel resolution and 418ppi. The handset is powered by a MediaTek MT6595 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM. There are no specifications available for the MX Supreme, though it is expected to have a QHD display, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor along with 4GB of RAM.

However, Nokia cannot compete in the smartphone market with a branded device until 2016, as part of its deal related to Microsoft's purchase of Nokia Devices and Services. However, Nokia could provide outside support to Meizu for producing the MX4 Supreme, similar to the way it has contracted Foxconn to produce a new tablet, known as the Nokia N1. Meizu has already squashed rumors of teaming up with Nokia for producing the MX4 Supreme, but more rumors about the MX4 Supreme will continue to build up.
