Change is in the air because the developers of "Metal Gear Solid V" Online have just released the content of their patch update.

According to Konami's official website, the patch will consist of the usual bug fixes, gameplay balancing, and connectivity issues that players may have been encountering in the game.

The connectivity issue that will be resolved this time will come in the form of displaying the player's network quality. It will show four levels from great connection in color green and bad to no connection in red. However, this doesn't resolve some players' issue regarding the peer-to-peer network of the game. Those who are unfamiliar, peer-to-peer network is when the game selects a host coming from the participating players, and if the host has a bad connection, then the whole match will become laggy. Furthermore, if the host quits the match, the game pauses and looks for another player within the match to become the host. This only means that proximity is a big factor for a smooth gameplay among players, minimizing latency. Hopefully, the developers decide to have dedicated servers rather than peer-to-peer network. Nevertheless, this small improvement may benefit players that prefer a smooth match.

The gameplay balancing comes in the adjustment of the diving and the sprinting. Players that will execute dive will now experience a delay before executing the move again. This also applies to the sprinting. The probable reason behind this is to make sure the game can still accommodate those players that have connectivity issues. Again, it boils down to the peer-to-peer network structure of the game.

Finally, the bug fixes include reduced frequency of disconnections when playing Survival mode. Another is the proper display of the player's stats and a fix where the game hangs up during the application boost, which is only found on the Xbox One.
