Michael Schumacher health update, news: Family coping with racer's condition

(Reuters/Caren Firouz)Michael Schumacher's family is learning to cope with the harsh reality of the Formula One racer's condition.

By now, most people know about the tragic accident that befell Michael Schumacher. Recently, a new report says the Formula One racer's family is finally coping with the terrifying reality that has struck them all.

According to reports, while accepting a lifetime achievement award in Schumacher's place, his manager, Sabine Kehm, expressed her sadness about his absence. "We have to accept it and learn to deal with it," she said. She went on to continue with more positive thoughts, saying they will still hold out on the hope that the racing champion will get better.

Previously, there were reports claiming that Schumacher is suffering from an emotional breakdown. The racer apparently cried when he heard his family's voices. And although the accident restricts him from making much physical movements, his tears were visible. There is even some speculation that the German racer is now depressed because of the extent of his injuries and his incapability to move or speak.

Schumacher suffered a dreadful skiing accident while vacationing with his family in the French Alps in 2013. Since then, the Formula One champion has been under surveillance and was transferred to the University Hospital Center in Grenoble. In 2014, Schumacher found himself back at home, but is still receiving treatment with the help of a team of highly skilled doctors. His family has spared no expense to ensure that Schumacher gets only the best of treatments.

Very little information about his condition is released to the media, so most people are kept in the dark about the status of his health. His family has requested for privacy during this trying time.

It is unknown if Schumacher will ever fully recover from his injuries or if all hope is lost, although there have been stories claiming both possibilities. His family and his fans alike are surely praying for the 47-year-old's health to improve soon.
