(Microsoft)Inset is the Microsoft Surface Book. The second iteration of the deviec is reportedly going to be powered by the next-generation Kaby Lake chipset from Intel.

Microsoft remains tight-lipped on the much-anticipated second iteration of the laptop-tablet combo, Microsoft Surface Book 2. Rumor has it that it will sport great improvements both inside and outside.

According to reports, fans who want to get their hands on the Surface Book 2 may be getting the device with new and improved hardware and design. The second iteration of the touchscreen laptop may get a makeover in its hinges and may be upgrading its processing chip under the hood with Intel's upcoming Kaby Lake chip. With the new processor, this could mean that it can power up crisp graphics and can go up high as 4K resolution.

Apparently, the rumored new hinge design is a result of the complaints that some owners had of the previous Surface Book. Users do not prefer looking at the gap when the device is closed; this is because of Microsoft's Dynamic-Fulcrum hinge. They don't only complain about the look but also the accumulated dirt that the device ends up getting in the keyboard because of the fact that it does not fully close. Plus, it is also inconvenient when one has to open the lid first before detaching the screen from the keyboard of laptop. Fans hope that the Surface Book 2 will solve the problem by putting a button — either on the display or the keyboard — so detaching will be so much easier.

In an interview with Business Insider, Microsoft Surface boss Panos Panay shared on how the tech giant came up with the Surface Pro then to Surface Book. He said, "We've gone from complexity to opportunity." He added that the key is to not give in to people-pleasing preferences just to satisfy the enterprise because after all, the people make up for the enterprises.

Microsoft is yet to announce more details on the upcoming Surface Book 2.
