After it was rumored that Microsoft's Surface Phone is not scheduled to be released this year, the latest in the rumor mill is that Microsoft may be coming with an event to reveal the Surface Phone this October.

Although unconfirmed, it is speculated that the Surface Phone will be unveiled via a major event in October, and the device will hit the store shelves before the year ends. In the event that this is true, gadget fans will have a lot of choices to choose from during the holidays, whether for personal use or holiday presents, as the Galaxy Note 7 and Apple 7 are also suspected to come out this month and in September, respectively.

However, there are also other reports claiming that it is unlikely for the Surface Phone to arrive this year as Microsoft is unlikely to release any device this year because it wants its new releases to coincide with the arrival of the Redstone 2. It is also said that the company is waiting for the Kaby Lake processors that, allegedly, Microsoft will pack in its upcoming Surface products, including the Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2, and the Surface phone.

With the contradicting reports on the possibility of the release of the Surface Phone, it is apparent that nothing is certain at this point in time, and things can only be verified once Microsoft comes out with an official announcement.

Apart from the conflicting reports on the release of the Surface Phone, it goes without saying that there are also various rumors and speculations as to what its specs and features will be. Last month, an unconfirmed piece of information surfaced online, claiming that the Surface Phone will come out in three variants in terms of RAM: 3 GB, 6 GB, and the 8 GB. It is also alleged that the Surface Phone will sport a 5.5-inch screen size, boast of a 20-megapixel rear camera, and come with a Surface Pen.

Nonetheless, again, without any confirmation from Microsoft, everything said about the specs and features of the Surface Phone at this point in time should be taken with a grain of salt.
