The competition is now firing up as latest rumors now suggest that Microsoft is planning to release its next Surface Pro flagship, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, ahead of Apple's expected unveiling of the MacBook Pro 2016 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (commonly known and referred to as WWDC) this coming June 2016.

According to reports, Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 may be unveiled a month ahead of Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 — specifically, it is expected to be made official next month. However, it is important to take note that this is just a prediction and in no way official.

There are also other reports claiming that Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 might even come out sometime later this year, probably around October 2016, while others claim that the release could even be moved until early 2017.

The reason why Surface Pro 5 may come out next year is due to the circulating rumors suggesting that Microsoft will equip its next flagship with the next-gen Intel processor, which is expected to be called as the Kaby Lake chipset.

This processor, in theory, will be much superior compared to the current-gen chipset, the Intel Skylake or commonly referred to as the sixth generation.

As for its display quality, word has it that the next Surface Pro might come out to the market with 4K capabilities. However, though, because of this feature, the gadget might come off as a high-end laptop when it becomes available in the market.

Lastly, there are rumors pointing out the possibility that the flagship might receive a revamp in terms of battery life.

Unfortunately, all the information posted here are still unofficial. With that in mind, it would be best to just wait for the official news coming from Microsoft regarding the Surface Pro 5 and take everything with a pinch of salt.
