Mojang has unveiled "The Bountiful Update" via Minecraft 1.8 pre-release 2, a picture of more than ten months of labor of the development team.

"It's time for us to pre-release the next major Minecraft update, the Bountiful Update! This will bring Minecraft to version 1.8, and should be officially be published in the launcher on Tuesday, September 2. This is the update that to date has taken the longest time to create (over 300 days), and is the result of many, many changes," writes Jens Bergensten in the official Mojang blog.

Bergensten added, "These changes consist of both new features, and large game structure changes such as replacing the hard-coded 'block renderer' with a system that is able to read block shapes from data files, or performance enhancements such as multi-threading the client-side chunk rendering. We hope you will enjoy it!"

Mojang Studios has been toiling to bring fresh and new content to Minecraft fanatics every so often.

The Minecraft 1.8 update provides solutions to bugs such as crashes when populating a chunk with unfilled columns, inverted daylight sensor not dropping anything when mined, potions and water having the same color when splashed, destruction of certain objects whenever Redstone dust is placed, mismatched skin, unable to summon objects and more.

The complete massive list of major changes in the game can be found on Mojang's website.

Players who have activated development versions in the launcher can access the pre-release.

Meanwhile, Mojang has also confirmed that the next MINECON will happen in 2015.

With the successive releases of patches and updates this year, the team could no longer accommodate organizing the event that demands so much attention.

"As soon as I have confirmed information it'll be out there," Mojang's Vu Bul said in a blog update.

They are however, positive that springtime next year will be the best time to once again hold the MINECON event.
