MineCon is happening this weekend and fans of the popular game are looking forward to catching a sneak peek of "Minecraft: Story Mode."

Details about the standalone experience game have been scarce so far but those looking at getting to know the game more can expect to do just that as more news are expected from London during the MineCon on July 4 to 5.

So far, what everyone knows of the Telltale title is that it will be set in the Mineccraft world and will have a sort of "choose your own adventure" gameplay.

The title was announced late last year through "Info Quest II," an 8-bit game that required players to answer various questions. In the announcement, it was revelead that "Minecraft: Story Mode" will be narrative-driven. It will neither have an official backstory for the iconic game character Steve nor will it explain the existence of the Minecraft world in detail.

Instead, the episodic adventure will throw in a few new characters and more choices. Latino Post reports that Telltale Games is closely collaborating with the original developer, Mojang and Minecraft community members to ensure that the game will remain consistent with the original game and retain most of the elements that appeal to its loyal fans.

Telltale teases fans of what is to come over the weekend with a tweet which says, "Let us tell you a story..." and a MineCon logo attached.

The original "Minecraft" game was released in 2011 and has had increasing popularity since then. The original gameplay allows players to construct worlds using textured cubes, as well as explore, gather resources, craft, and combat.

"Minecraft: Story Mode" will be available on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. The first episode will roll out later this year.
